The historic church building was built in 1748 and technically and structurally renovated in 2018. The Johanniskirche sees itself as the center of all churches in and around Hagen. In addition to church events, there are regularly well-attended concerts here. The well thought-out and tailor-made artificial lighting emphasizes the contemporary spatial concept of this large church.
